We talk through insurance that can help pay for extended care, and how it fits income, life insurance, and Medicare. What a policy covers depends on the insurer and the contract.
A fact worth knowing
Long-term care is often help at home with bathing, dressing, or meals. It is not only a nursing home, and Medicare does not pay for most of it.
Almost 70% will need some kind of long-term care after 65.
About one in three may never need it. Women, on average, need care longer than men: 3.7 years, compared with 2.2.
